1. What we collect

ShareTool collects minimal data. When you use the site, we may collect:

Analytics data - page views, referrer, device type via Google Analytics 4 (see section 4).
Affiliate click logs- when you click "Visit Site", we log the tool slug, referrer URL, and timestamp. No personal data.
Account data - if you create an account to save tools: email address and saved tool list. Powered by Supabase Auth.
Tool submissions - your email address and the tool details you submit via the submission form.

2. How we use it

We use data only to operate and improve ShareTool. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): Used to understand how visitors use the site. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies. You can opt out at any time using the cookie preferences banner.
Auth session cookie: Set only if you sign in. Required for account functionality.

4. Google Analytics & Consent Mode

We use Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2. Before you accept cookies, GA4 operates in limited mode - it sends anonymized, cookieless pings to measure aggregate traffic without storing identifiers on your device. Full analytics (with cookies) activate only after you consent.

US visitors (CCPA):Google Analytics is used for analytics purposes only, not for advertising. We do not "sell" your data as defined under CCPA. You may opt out via the cookie banner or via Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Canadian visitors (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25): Quebec Law 25 requires opt-in consent before setting non-essential cookies. Our consent banner handles this. If you decline, GA4 operates in cookieless mode only.
